{"id":226142,"date":"2018-12-21T15:02:36","date_gmt":"2018-12-21T05:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=226142"},"modified":"2020-07-29T12:50:15","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T02:50:15","slug":"woman-charged-over-fires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/12\/21\/woman-charged-over-fires\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman Charged Over Fires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>December 21, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Murgon woman has been charged with lighting an an unauthorised fire after police were called to several grass fires about 7:30am on December 10.<\/p>\n<p>The fires were on Ferris Road at Murgon.<\/p>\n<p>The woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Police have been investigating a number of thefts in the Murgon area:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On December 8,\u00a0 a woman filled up a vehicle at a service station about 6:45pm without paying. She bought items in the store but stated she had no fuel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>About 8:00pm on the same day, two people stole alcohol from a bottleshop in Lamb Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On December 12,\u00a0thieves entered a business in Lamb Street between 10:00am and 5:00pm and stole a large plastic bag of coins from an office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 23-year-old Cherbourg man has been charged after an alleged shoplifting incident at another Lamb Street store on December 13. He will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 22.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also on December 13, unknown offender(s) entered a house on Lamb Street at some time between 6:00pm and 10:00pm. The thieves gained entry by breaking a window on the rear door and removed multiple personal items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Investigations are continuing. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two vehicles have also had windows smashed with rocks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On December 7,\u00a0unknown offenders approached a parked vehicle on Wallace Street, Murgon, at some time between\u00a03:00pm and 6:00pm and used rocks to smash the rear window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On December 13, between 8:00am and 12:15pm, the rear window of a parked vehicle in Barambah Avenue was also smashed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Investigations are continuing. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Visitors to the region have also been keeping local police busy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 20-year-old Victoria Point woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 8 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped a Holden Clubsport on Lamb Street, Murgon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 35-year-old Tara man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 21 on drugs charges after police stopped a Holden Commodore on the Bunya Highway. A search of the vehicle allegedly located drugs and drug items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 32-year-old Rosewood man\u00a0will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 15 charged with driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and possessing drug utensils after police intercepted a Mazda Atenza on Lamb Street. A\u00a021-year-old Leichhardt man will appear in court on the same day charged with possessing dangerous drugs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A number of people will face drugs charges after police executed a series of search warrants in Cherbourg on December 11:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 48-year-old man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 15 charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after a search of a house in Marshall Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 43-year-old woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 22 charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after a search of a house in Bulgi Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A 36-year-old man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on January 22 charged with possessing dangerous drugs, failing to dispose of a syringe and possessing drug utensils after a search of a house in Cobbo Street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">* * *<\/p>\n<p>Police responded to a variety of incidents between December 7-14 in the Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai police divisions.
