“Coffee With A Cop” will become a regular event in Kingaroy following the success of the inaugural event on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

A string of local residents, including a couple of former police officers, took the opportunity to take a short break at Kingaroy Shoppingworld and swap ideas with a Kingaroy police officer.<\/p>\n

The event led to a genuine buzz around Muffin Break, the first hosts for the event, and it had nothing to do with the caffeine …<\/p>\n

People were stopping and talking in little groups, as well as enjoying coffee and muffins at the tables inside.<\/p>\n

Senior Constable Samantha Giles and Senior Constable Rob Firman did the most of the sipping and chatting as Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant David Tierney was called away to speak at the South Burnett Regional Council meeting.<\/p>\n

However, he said he was very pleased with the reaction to this first event.<\/p>\n

“We’ll be looking at doing it every two months in the New Year, and share it around different businesses,” he said.<\/p>\n
