The mobile breastscreening van at Kingaroy Hospital is definitely up and running, despite all the recent rain.<\/p>\n

BreastScreen Queensland Health Promotion Officer Jessica Hobbs said the Bundaberg BreastScreen Clinic has been out of action which may have caused some confusion.<\/p>\n

However the mobile breastscreening service in Kingaroy is still operating at Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

She urged women aged 50 to 69 years in the Kingaroy area to take advantage of the free breast cancer screening service before the bus left for another two years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe service will be in Kingaroy until mid-February therefore women need to ring and make their appointment as soon as possible,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne in 8 Queensland women will develop breast cancer at some point in their life, with 90 per cent of those women having no family history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Early detection could save your life. All women aged between 50 and 69 years are strongly encouraged to have a free breast screen every two years. All women over the age of 40 are also eligible to attend.<\/p>\n

A doctor\u2019s referral is not required to attend the mobile screening service.<\/p>\n
