November 26, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a meeting on Thursday (November 29) to discuss future water infrastructure needs in the region.<\/p>\n

This follows the Federal Government commitment last week to fund a $2 million joint South Burnett\/North Burnett Regional Council feasibility study to investigate new infrastructure options for increased water supply and water security in the Burnett region.<\/p>\n

Council has invited agriculturalists, industry leaders and all interested parties to the meeting to share their views on water for the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Thursday at the Town Common Hall, Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe invite all interested parties to come along to share and discuss innovative ideas about the future of water in the Burnett,” Mayor Keith Campbell said. <\/p>\n

“There is no doubt that increasing the water supply into the Burnett will drive social and economic growth by providing significant opportunities for new industries to establish in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the importance of this announcement, Council wishes to take immediate action. <\/p>\n

“For those who cannot make it to Thursday\u2019s meeting, future opportunities to participate in the study will be announced in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n
