It has been another year of hard work for South Burnett CTC with a “deluge” of issues that have taxed resources at times, the annual general meeting was told last week.<\/p>\n

And chairman John Box warned there were still more challenges ahead, including the further implementation of the National Disability Scheme.<\/p>\n

This is the first year that CEO Nina Temperton was not present at an AGM as she had suffered an injury at home during a recent storm.<\/p>\n

Mr Box expressed his gratitude to Mrs Temperton, the senior management team, HQ administration staff and the 180-plus “positive staff” for their work during the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

Auditor Cos Schuh said South Burnett CTC had enjoyed a strong performance despite the the depreciation of the Nanango childcare centre.<\/p>\n

He congratulated the Board on making the tough decision to write down the centre.<\/p>\n

“If you remove that, you have made a profit. So actually, it is a very good result,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Schuh also pointed out that CTC had paid $7.4 million in wages, which was a significant contribution to the local economy.<\/p>\n

Mr Box welcomed two new members of the Association, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, who is the officer-in-charge at Kingaroy Police Station; and Kingaroy resident Kendall Siddans.<\/p>\n

He also congratulated\u00a0CTC Disability Services Manager Barb O’Hanlon on clocking up 20 years of service with CTC.<\/p>\n
