Queensland small businesses affected by flooding are encouraged to check if they are eligible for government financial assistance to help get their business back on track.<\/p>\n

Small Business Minister Jann Stuckey said small businesses could be eligible for concessional loans of up to $250,000 under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want operators to know the Newman Government is doing all it can to help reduce the impacts on small businesses,\u201d Ms Stuckey said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage all small businesses in a disaster-declared local government area directly affected by water-inundation to see if they are eligible for assistance under NDRRA.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome businesses have not long recovered from the last flooding event in 2010-11, and now they are facing the same battle again.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueensland small businesses are strong and resilient but even the most resilient sometimes need a helping hand to cope with circumstances outside their control.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmall business employs just over half of the State\u2019s private sector employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow more than ever, Queenslanders need to support small businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
