Long-serving Nanango Hospital\u00a0Medical Superintendent\u00a0Dr John Robinson has been recognised at a special ceremony held in Toowoomba last week.<\/p>\n

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service CEO Dr\u00a0Peter Bristow and Board Deputy Chair Dr Dennis Campbell paid tribute\u00a0to 21 health staff who have each served more than 40 years in healthcare, and to\u00a0three local health staff who received special Australia Day Achievement Awards.<\/p>\n

Dr Robinson, who is a popular Nanango GP, \u00a0has been involved in healthcare for 40 years.<\/p>\n

Special mention was made of his\u00a0outstanding service to the Nanango Hospital and local communities.<\/p>\n

He attended the awards ceremony by videoconference.<\/p>\n

Dr Bristow handed out certificates to staff who\u00a0have worked for the DDHHS for 40 years and 45 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year we have 18 staff members who have served 40 years and three who have\u00a0served 45 years,” he said.<\/p>\n

“These staff members are from a number of health services in our\u00a0area including Toowoomba, Stanthorpe, Dalby, Oakey and the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“They\u00a0are from a variety of professions including doctors, nurses, dentists, catering staff\u00a0and artisans.”<\/p>\n

Dr Bristow and Dr Campbell also presented Toowoomba Hospital Renal Unit\u00a0Nurse Unit Manager Josie Skewes, Stanthorpe Hospital Nurse Unit Manager Carol\u00a0Batterham and Team Leader (Recovery and Resilience) Geoffrey Argus with Queensland Health Australia Day Achievement Awards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
