South Burnett Regional Council will be discussing the past 12 months of tourism activities in the region at a Tourism Review to be held this Thursday (November 8) in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The review will be held from 5:00pm at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street (situated behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre).<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said activity, results and recommendations from surveys would be discussed and all were welcome to attend.<\/p>\n

The Tourism Review follows the “South Burnett Unpacked 5” tourism event which was held on Monday at Taras Hall in Nanango.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A preview of Council’s 2019 tourism marketing program, including a 12-month “Visitor Economy Action Plan”, was unveiled at the Nanango event.<\/p>\n

“The plan has been built from past successful destination marketing activities, informed by industry feedback and designed to increase visitor numbers to the region,” a Council spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Marketing activity has been proposed to peak in the middle of the year, which is traditionally the South Burnett’s main tourism period.<\/p>\n

“Discover South Burnett also proposes co-operative marketing packages for events and tourism businesses to leverage the increased South Burnett-specific activity,” the spokesperson said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2019 marketing campaign calendar will be released at the November Council meeting as part of the Economic Development department’s September Quarterly Activity Report.<\/p>\n

\u201cTourism operators and event organisers can expect to see a lot more structure and opportunity to leverage Council\u2019s destination marketing spend,” Tourism portfolio holder Cr Danita Potter said.<\/p>\n
