South Burnett First\u00a0Aid Volunteers have received a $4800 grant from the Federal Government\u2019s Stronger Communities Program to improve access to their Murgon Training Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe funds will be used to upgrade the car park and extend the facility\u2019s doorway, providing easier access to the building for people with limited mobility,\u201d Member for Wide Bay Llew O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe volunteers are a team of highly trained and licensed medics who deliver training sessions at their premises in Murgon, which is also available for use by other community groups.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Burnett First Aid Volunteers has partnered with many other local organisations to raise funds and donations of goods and equipment for the Murgon Training Centre and I congratulate president Grant Geddes and his hardworking team on their work to provide\u00a0access for all.”<\/p>\n

The Stronger Communities Program is designed to improve the resilience of communities by providing capital grants for small projects up to $20,000.<\/p>\n

A total of $150,000 is available in each electorate per year.<\/p>\n

The grants are available to not-for-profit organisations and local councils. Applications for Round 4\u00a0 of the program closed recently.<\/p>\n
