Do you remember the South Burnett Food For Queensland Farmers campaign initiated earlier this year by Nanango resident Trina Lucas?<\/p>\n

Trina decided the best way to help farming families would be to give them things they could use.<\/p>\n

She set up collection points at multiple locations in the South Burnett, including Huston Motors in Kingaroy, Nanango SupaIGA, Murgon SupaIGA, Wondai IGA, BP Fuel Nanango, Bunya Nursery Murgon and Yarraman Produce.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Kindy kids also supported the appeal, donating items on special “Dress Like A Farmer” days.<\/p>\n

And Seeds of Hope organised Pamper Packs which were added to the donations.<\/p>\n

Then the Nanango Lions Club came on board to help organise the distribution of everything collected.<\/p>\n

Last week a horse float full of non-perishable goods from the South Burnett wound its way along the Warrego Highway to Charleville to help drought-stricken farmers in the western part of the State.<\/p>\n

Scott Barsby and Dick Robinson, from Nanango Lions, delivered the load to Aussie Helpers in Charleville for distribution.<\/p>\n

The Robinson family loaned the horse float and Nanango Lions paid for the fuel.<\/p>\n

Distribution of the goods began last weekend.<\/p>\n
