Murgon’s third annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast, held on Friday morning, has raised more than $6000 for\u00a0the National Breast Cancer Foundation.<\/p>\n

Organiser Alicia Pidgeon said it had been an excellent morning.<\/p>\n

“We really loved the support we received,” she said. “People were coming and going all the time.”<\/p>\n

Four Murgon businesses banded together to host the fundraiser: Alicia\u2019s Spa and Hairworx, Carney\u2019s Feed Store, Murgon Moto & More, and Remko Engineering.<\/p>\n

The highlight was\u00a0Mick Laughton, from Remko, losing his locks and beard after $5000 was raised for the cause.<\/p>\n

Alicia, with a bit of help from Cr Ros Heit, made short work of Mick’s transformation.<\/p>\n

About 40 to 50 people came along to enjoy\u00a0sausages in pink bread, cooked by Mark Smith and “Blue” Carney, and pink cupcakes.<\/p>\n

There were also pink ribbon tattoos and hair colouring for a gold coin donation.<\/p>\n

CROW-FM broadcast live from the event.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t make it to the Pink Ribbon Breakfast, donations can still be dropped off at any of the four businesses.<\/p>\n

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.<\/p>\n
