consultation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>October 18, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The latest version of South Burnett Regional Council&#8217;s controversial &#8220;Draft\u00a0Sport and Recreation Infrastructure and Strategic Plan&#8221; is now available to download.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Download: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southburnett.qld.gov.au\/documents\/41153986\/42861669\/Version%205.1%20SBRC%20Sport%20%26%20Recreation%20Infrastructure%20%26%20Strategic%20Plan\">Draft\u00a0Sport and Recreation Infrastructure and Strategic Plan<\/a><\/strong> (16.4Mb PDF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hard copies are also available to view at Council libraries.<\/p>\n<p>The draft was\u00a0presented and approved for release at Council&#8217;s General Meeting on October 10 but because minor editing changes had to be made, it was not made available at that time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feedback must be submitted to Council in writing by 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The strategic plan has been developed with State Government funding through a partnership with the North Burnett Regional Council and Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council.<\/p>\n<p>The funding was provided to develop individual regional plans as well as an overarching plan for the Wide Bay Burnett region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce finalised, this plan will give Council a clear direction over the next 10 years to guide investment in parks, recreation, sports and open space management,&#8221; portfolio holder Cr Roz Frohloff said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The content of the Draft Plan is comprehensive while analysing Council\u2019s current management and resourcing as well as recommending our future strategic direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis plan will assist Council to accurately project our expenditure, evaluate community requests for support and financial assistance and ensure we have \u2018shovel-ready\u2019 projects to leverage external funding sources when they become available.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Written
