{"id":220620,"date":"2018-10-18T14:48:30","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T04:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=220620"},"modified":"2018-10-18T16:47:03","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T06:47:03","slug":"mondure-man-charged-with-rape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/10\/18\/mondure-man-charged-with-rape\/","title":{"rendered":"Mondure Man Charged With Rape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>October 18, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Detectives have arrested and charged a 48-year-old Mondure man after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a female backpacker.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old Englishwoman was in Australia on a working holiday visa when the incidents allegedly occurred in January last year.<\/p>\n<p>It will be alleged the man sexually assaulted the woman on a number of occasions while she was working on a rural property at Mondure.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit, with help from police at Kingaroy and Murgon, executed a search warrant at Mondure on Thursday and arrested the man.<\/p>\n<p>He has been charged with two counts of rape as well as one count each of sexual assault, deceptive recruitment, possession of a dangerous drug and failure to secure a weapon.<\/p>\n<p>He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Police appealed for anyone with knowledge of similar offences to contact them.<\/p>\n<p>A police spokesman said as the matter was before the court, it was not appropriate to comment on other aspects of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[UPDATED]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Detectives have arrested and charged a 48-year-old Mondure man after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a female backpacker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":213388,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[310,1132,1134],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
