Wooroolin Lions president Dave Goddard travelled to Toowoomba recently to present the LifeFlight Foundation with a cheque for $4000.<\/p>\n

The Foundation is the charity that supports the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters that service the South Burnett almost daily.<\/p>\n

The cheque came from Wooroolin Lions’ fundraising during 2017-18.<\/p>\n

Dave said LifeFlight performed hundreds of missions to the South Burnett every year and Wooroolin Lions were very proud to support them in their service to the community.<\/p>\n

The $4000 cheque was the last part of the Wooroolin Lions’ disbursement program,<\/p>\n

The club distributed a total of $12,392.<\/p>\n

It also supported the installation of a community cardiac defibrillator at the Grand Hotel in Wooroolin, new lockers for the crew at the Endeavour Kitchen in Kingaroy, and $1445 towards a students’ garden at Wooroolin State School.<\/p>\n

Wooroolin Lions raises funds through a weekly raffle as well staging events such as show and shines and car boot sales.<\/p>\n

Extra funds are raised through barbecues and catering for clearing sales, and through the sale of Lions Club Christmas cakes and puddings.<\/p>\n

The club also benefits through donations from generous individuals and organisations.<\/p>\n
