South Burnett Women are looking for sponsors to assist with their 2019\u00a0Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship.<\/p>\n

The women’s group offers an annual bursary to women who are residents of the South Burnett region and who are embarking on tertiary studies.<\/p>\n

The Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship provides $5000 to support the recipient of the bursary in her chosen area of study.<\/p>\n

Expressions of interest have been invited from\u00a0individuals, small business, corporate or community groups to support the next round of our bursary.<\/p>\n

Sponsorship is $500 per bursary partner.<\/p>\n

The Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship was launched in 2016.<\/p>\n

It honours Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes who became Queensland\u2019s first female councillor when she was elected to the former Kingaroy Shire Council in 1923.<\/p>\n
