A team of vets will be visiting Cherbourg soon as part of an annual program organised by the Darling Downs Public Health Unit staff in collaboration with Cherbourg Council, the University of Queensland School of Veterinary Science and Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe three-week program is a great opportunity for Cherbourg residents to receive vet checks for their dogs and cats that have been registered with Council,\u201d Senior Environmental Health Officer Amanda Hutchings said.<\/p>\n

The vet treatments include general health checks, parasite treatments, desexing and microchipping.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also holding a community barbecue where people can bring along their pets and meet the veterinary team,\u201d Ms Hutchings said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOther activities during the program will include a school poster competition and education sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Registration forms and vet bookings are available at the Council depot office.<\/p>\n

The program will begin on October 9 with the free barbecue in Anzac Park.<\/p>\n
