October 4, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett households, schools and community groups are invited to join more than 400,000 people across the country on the weekend of October 20-21 as a part of the eighth annual Garage Sale Trail.<\/p>\n

The Garage Sale Trail is an award-winning community and sustainability event supported by more than 140 Councils nationwide.<\/p>\n

It is expected this year\u2019s event will involve more than 15,000 garage sales across Australia.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell said the Garage Sale Trail was a fun and social way for Council to encourage reuse and help educate the community about why we all need take responsibility for the waste we generate.<\/p>\n

“The Garage Sale Trail also provides a way to meet your neighbours and connect with the broader community while raising money for yourself or local causes,” Mayor Campbell said.<\/p>\n

“We’re really pleased to be involved in this grassroots event.<\/p>\n

“Like the reuse movement, it’s growing year on year.”<\/p>\n

Garage Sale Trail organisers estimate that more than 1.5 million items will be listed for sale and reuse this year.<\/p>\n
