Wondai at the weekend for the second annual Dingo Creek bowls carnival.<\/p>\n<p>A number of sides travelled more than 200km to take part in the two-day event which comprised a total of five games.<\/p>\n<p>While a heavy storm occurred during play in the final round, the carnival was again a great success.<\/p>\n<p>Winners with four wins and a total of attaining 40 ends was the Nanango combination of Rod McCallum, Mike Smith, Allan Wright and Glen Yeates.<\/p>\n<p>Second prize money went to the composite side of Brian Kunde Snr (Goomeri), Merv Horne (Urangan), Ray Frahm (Murgon) and Peter Bennett (Gayndah).<\/p>\n<p>The Fraser Coast combination of Gordon Williams, Trevor Learroyd, Mick Roy and Al Johnson finished third with three wins and a draw, just two ends behind the winners.<\/p>\n<p>The carnival, which is the brainchild of Wondai Club secretary Evan O&#8217;Rourke, seems certain to stay on the Wondai calendar.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Wondai Bowls Club&#8217;s recent Farmers&#8217; Drought Appeal raised just over $3000.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The drought appeal funds have been forwarded to the Murgon Rotary Club for distribution to needy farmers and graziers in the region.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_219753\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-219753\" style=\"width: 740px\"
