Wondai’s annual Spring Garden Expo was as bright and bustling as ever at the weekend with visitors exploring a multitude of stalls stretching around the edge of Wondai Sportsground.<\/p>\n

Saturday morning was particularly busy with hundreds of cars parked along both sides of the Bunya Highway.<\/p>\n

The two-day event is organised by an independent committee made up of members of the Wondai Garden Club and local community members.<\/p>\n

It is held to coincide with Autumn and Spring every year and is always one of the biggest gardening events in south-east Queensland.<\/p>\n

Wondai Garden Club president Helen Young, from Proston, said there were 108 stalls booked in this time, including several new exhibitors.<\/p>\n

Local South Burnett businesses from Murgon and Wondai rubbed shoulders with stallholders from the Sunshine Coast and further afield.<\/p>\n

The event was officially opened jointly by South Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff and Cr Ros Heit.<\/p>\n

Live entertainment was provided by local musicians, The Stepping Stones.<\/p>\n

And bush food expert Geoff Robinson, permaculturist Alan Atkinson and soil doctor Jason Reimers were this year’s guest speakers.<\/p>\n
