Police from across the South Burnett will mark National Police Remembrance Day this Friday (September 28) with a special service in Kumbia.<\/p>\n

The commemoration service rotates between different towns within the region each year.<\/p>\n

This year’s service will be held from 3:00pm at the Peace Lutheran Church at 10 Kearneys Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The QPS, particularly those officers serving in the South Burnett, invite the public to attend the service and join with them as we reflect on the tragedies which have touched us all over the years, and remember our colleagues and friends who have fallen both on duty and off duty under other circumstances,” Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney said.<\/p>\n

“It is also a time to remember the families, partners, friends and colleagues who have sacrificed and lost so much.”<\/p>\n

National Police Remembrance Day\u00a0is the most significant day in the policing calendar.<\/p>\n

It not only honours those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, but recognises the commitment, dedication and bravery of all past, present and future police officers.<\/p>\n
