Motorcyclists from all over south-east Queensland will descend on Kingaroy’s Showgrounds this Saturday to help raise money for drought relief.<\/p>\n

The “Bikers For Farmers Drought Meet” is the brainchild of business partners Kerrie Bantoft and Lynnsay Fryer, who opened Kerrie B’s Motor-Bikery and Big Bike Tours in Wooroolin last July.<\/p>\n

The couple are partnering with the Salvation Army and are hoping to see as many as a thousand bikes roll up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Motorcyclists who take part will be asked to pay a $10 entry fee to the Salvos manning the gate, who will use the funds in their drought relief efforts.<\/p>\n

The Drought Meet will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm and participants can browse the monthly Kingaroy Markets; watch the South Burnett Junior Motorcycle Club’s State Titles; enjoy buskers roaming the grounds; and inspect the many different types of motorcycles on display.<\/p>\n

Those who want to camp over can also bunk down at Showgrounds for a $5 camping fee.<\/p>\n

And members of the public who’d like to come along and make a donation are very welcome, too.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell will officially open the drought relief effort at noon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Drought Meet isn’t the first community effort the big-hearted couple have arranged.<\/p>\n

Last December they organised the South Burnett Toy Run which saw motorcyclists deliver soft toy donations from all over the region to the Salvos for distribution to needy families at Christmas.<\/p>\n

And in April, Kerrie and Lynnsay organised the Woolly Rally which drew more than 100 motorcyclists to Wooroolin for a three-day camp out, giving the town’s businesses a welcome economic lift.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
