September 13, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

More than 740 caravans and campervans packed out the Nanango Showgrounds at the weekend for the 16th annual Heritage Nanango Country Muster.<\/p>\n

The four-day muster, which features traditional Australian country music plus bush poetry, is always held on the second weekend in September . . . and always attracts a loyal following of music lovers.<\/p>\n

It kicks off on the Thursday (although vans always start arriving earlier) and is officially opened on the Friday.<\/p>\n

But Saturday is the big day, with crowds filling the grassed area in front of the stage as well as the covered area near the canteen.<\/p>\n

This year the Muster was competing with a plethora of local events, but organisers said the numbers weren’t down at all.<\/p>\n

Thirteen invited artists took turns on the stage, as well as walk-up acts.<\/p>\n

The roster included Tom Maxwell, Mary-Ann Benz, the Gottani Sisters, Wayne Horsburgh, Jeff Brown, Terry Gordan, Glenn Jones, Peter Pratt, Graham Rodger, Brian Letton, Justin Standley, Bev Branson and the South Burnett’s own Dean Perrett.<\/p>\n

They were joined by bush poets\u00a0Gary Fogarty, Ray Essery and Carol Heuchan.<\/p>\n

A highlight for music fans is always the opportunity to chat with the singers, and buy copies of their CDs, in a special area set aside just for that purpose.<\/p>\n
