Schools Back Tomorrow!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>January 28, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek has confirmed the majority of Queensland State Schools will re-open tomorrow &#8230; but there&#8217;s nine schools in the South Burnett that will stay closed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety of students, staff and the wider community is the first consideration when making the decision to close a school,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents are expected to return to school as normal tomorrow (January 29) unless it\u2019s been used as an evacuation centre or has been closed because of access or safety issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I urge parents, even if their school is open, to use their discretion and consider access issues, road closures and transport in their community before sending their child to school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A full update of school closures can be found online at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/dete.qld.gov.au\/natural-disasters.html\">http:\/\/dete.qld.gov.au\/natural-disasters.html<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cClosures of early childhood centres, TAFEs and Independent and Catholic schools will also be on the website,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision to close schools was made on the basis of whether parents can access a school, whether the school has power and sewerage and whether the school is being used as an evacuation centre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following State Schools facilities will be closed tomorrow:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cherbourg<\/li>\n<li>Durong South<\/li>\n<li>Goomeri<\/li>\n<li>Kilkivan<\/li>\n<li>Moffatdale<\/li>\n<li>Wheatlands<\/li>\n<li>Widgee<\/li>\n<li>Windera<\/li>\n<li>Woolooga<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parents with children at Catholic or independent schools should check with the school as to any particular local arrangements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">* * *<\/p>\n<p><strong>The South Burnett Regional Council has provided
