Two more South Burnett footballers have returned home with Premiership medals, this time from the Brisbane Juniors U16 Division 1 AFL competition.<\/p>\n

Shaun Pukallus, from Kingaroy, and James Packer, from Hodgleigh, play for the Aspley Hornets.<\/p>\n

Their Grand Final against the Morningside Black Panthers was played at Yeronga on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Hornets, who finished in fourth spot on the ladder, had a tough journey through the finals to earn a spot in the Grand Final.<\/p>\n

Aspley went into the game as underdogs.<\/p>\n

The teams had met twice before during the season, with Morningside recording decisive wins on each occasion.<\/p>\n

However, the Hornets began strongly on Sunday and finished the first quarter ahead by two goals.<\/p>\n

Morningside fought back and by the end of the third quarter, were just two points behind: 7.7 (49) to 6.11 (47).<\/p>\n

Aspley pulled away in the last quarter to finish ahead 13.8 (86) to 8.11 (59).<\/p>\n

Shaun, a ruckman, and James, a midfielder, have been travelling to Brisbane weekly to train and then returning at the weekend for games.<\/p>\n
