Local police officers turned out in force on Friday to salute the career of retiring Wondai Officer-in-Charge, Sergeant Gary Brown.<\/p>\n

Senior Bandsperson Alistair Bremner, from the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums in Brisbane, piped Sgt Brown out of the Wondai Station for the last time, playing the traditional Scottish military march “Cock o’the North”.<\/p>\n

Sgt Brown, who has been at Wondai Station for 19 years, walked through a Guard of Honour to reach his police vehicle which was then led down Bramston Street by the piper.<\/p>\n

Senior police from the Dalby Burnett Patrol Group and South West District also attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Sgt Brown has been a police officer for 39 years, serving at stations around western and northern Queensland before settling in Wondai.<\/p>\n

His retirement is the latest in a number of changes in local policing recently.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumbia Senior Constable Adam Entwistle has been promoted to Sergeant and will be transferring soon to Murgon Police Station.<\/p>\n

Blackbutt Sergeant Alan Gerrard has already taken up a position at Murgon.<\/p>\n

A selection process has begun for the positions at Wondai, Kumbia and Blackbutt.<\/p>\n

Four new Constables started recently at Murgon: Toni Morris, Ellen Meagher, Amber Marsh and Aaron Hartwell.<\/p>\n

Two new Acting Senior Constables will be starting soon at Cherbourg: Matt Dean and Adam Done.<\/p>\n
