{"id":217244,"date":"2018-09-04T19:20:17","date_gmt":"2018-09-04T09:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=217244"},"modified":"2020-09-23T16:53:24","modified_gmt":"2020-09-23T06:53:24","slug":"wheelie-ends-in-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/09\/04\/wheelie-ends-in-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Wheelie Ends In Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>September 4, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A motorbike rider was flown to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Prince Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The 33-year-old Kingaroy man was allegedly attempting to do a wheelie on an unregistered Kawasaki bike when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n<p>Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said the rider accelerated heavily, lifted the front wheel, lost control and smashed into a large timber fence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The impact was sufficient for the rider\u2019s helmet to be dislodged,&#8221; Snr Sgt Tierney said.<\/p>\n<p>The rider was transported to hospital with serious injuries to his abdomen and later airlifted to Brisbane for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He was required to supply a sample of blood while at hospital but allegedly refused.<\/p>\n<p>The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 22 charged with failing to supply a sample of blood.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A motorbike rider was flown to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Prince Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":269008,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[1132],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
