Queensland Premier Campbell Newman<\/figcaption><\/figure>January 28, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

Premier Campbell Newman has launched the Queensland Flood Appeal 2013, a State Government\/Red Cross partnership to help Queenslanders impacted by recent floods and storms. <\/p>\n

The government has kick-started the appeal with a $1 million donation.<\/p>\n

Mr Newman encouraged all Queenslanders to give to the appeal to help those in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe destructive force of the weather caused by Cyclone Oswald has affected communities from the Cape to the NSW border,\u201d Mr Newman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome communities have been particularly hard hit with extensive damage caused by flooding and destructive storm cells.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe money raised through the appeal will go directly to helping those in need. <\/p>\n

\u201cFinancial support at times like these can make a huge difference to the lives of those affected.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ask all Queenslanders to give generously to this worthy cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
