Kingaroy Police marked Queensland Road Safety Week with a special breakfast outside the station in Alford Street on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Visitors enjoyed bacon and egg burgers cooked up by Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant David Tierney and Detective Sergeant Scott Prendergast.<\/p>\n

Constable Rhys Golinski demonstrated how the police LiDAR speed guns work, and there were also displays of public safety awareness material.<\/p>\n

Police officers chatted with passers-by.<\/p>\n

The Australian Road Safety Foundation\u2019s inflatable car was parked on the footpath so people could leave their road safety messages.<\/p>\n

An unusual attraction was a Yamaha motorbike owned by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The motorbike is fitted with special sensors to record data about the roads it is ridden on, measuring data such as camber and surface roughness.<\/p>\n

The data collected is recorded on a laptop computer fitted to the bike and can then be used by road engineers and forensic crash investigators.<\/p>\n

The motorbike will be in the South Burnett until Friday.<\/p>\n
