South Burnett Saints kept Highfields on the run in Kingaroy on Saturday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Saints have missed out on a spot in the AFL Darling Downs final series despite trouncing Highfields by 85 points on Saturday in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The final score was\u00a020.23 (143) to 9.4 (58).<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by\u00a0Jarryd Hill (6), Joseph Amery (5), Jordan Pressnell (2), Brenton Noe (2), Daniel Rogers, Daniel Clacy, Jordan Sonter, Ben Pressnell and Keegan Wright.<\/p>\n

The Saints finished the regular rounds with 40 points – the same as South Toowoomba and Warwick, but behind them on for \/ against.<\/p>\n

This left them in fifth spot on the ladder.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, only the first four teams went through to the Qualifying and Elimination finals which will be played this weekend in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

USQ Cougars were Minor Premiers, finishing with 52 points.<\/p>\n

The Grand Final will be at Rockville Park in Toowoomba on Saturday, September 8.<\/p>\n

Saints women will be in action on Saturday at Heritage Oval in Toowoomba in the Elimination final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite only notching up two wins for the season, the women were always assured of a Finals spot in the four-team competition.<\/p>\n

The Saints will be taking on third placegetters South Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

The winner of this game will go through to the Preliminary final which will be played at Rockville Oval on September 1.<\/p>\n
