This $130,000 project involved installing 15 cameras around the CBD, along with security and video surveillance software for police.<\/p>\n<p>A $369,000 54-camera system was installed in Murgon in 2017 which also included a thermal imaging camera and four integrated cameras that produce a 180-degree view of a 50 metre section of Lamb Street.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wondai Lions are working with security consultant Douglas Grant, who installed the Murgon system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr Grant worked with the Murgon Business and Development Association on their grant application.<\/p>\n<p>Local councillor Ros Heit said she was hoping the Wondai funding application would be successful to help prevent crime in the town.<\/p>\n<p>There is a total of $30 million to be distributed in Round 3 of the Safer Communities Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Grants ranging from $1000 up to $1 million are available to boost community safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said the funding helped to prevent, deter and detect crime, and protect community organisations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rubber really hits the road when we have access to CCTV footage,&#8221; Mr Littleproud said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;More watchful eyes in our community increases public safety and give people a greater sense of security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the infrastructure stream close on September 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related articles:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/06\/28\/nanango-gets-cctv-security-system\/\">Nanango Gets CCTV Security System<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2017\/09\/26\/cctv-now-running-in-murgon\/\">CCTV Now Running In Murgon<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wondai could soon be the third town in the South Burnett region to get a CCTV security camera system to deter crime. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":191064,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[16,3,24],"tags":[187,1132,26],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
