Toowoomba Regional Council has increased the operating hours at the\u00a0Yarraman Waste Management Facility after receiving feedback from the community.<\/p>\n

The decision to was made at the Council meeting earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Portfolio holder Cr Bill Cahill said the decision was a sign Council had listened to the concerns of the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the community wants a value-for-money model and last year in October we adopted a Waste Infrastructure Plan (WIP) which focused on balancing costs across the region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe WIP came into effect on July 1 this year with revised hours introduced at sites where the base cost per transaction was high.”<\/p>\n

The hours at some facilities were increased, but the opening hours at Yarraman and three other sites were reduced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We received feedback from the community… and have made the decision today to revise the hours for these four facilities,” Cr Cahill said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese changes will provide consistency across all our facilities and we believe they better align with community expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n
