Wondai dog lovers will soon have a special place to exercise their pooches, thanks to the local Lions Club and the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n

An off-leash dog area is being developed after the Wondai Lions were successful in securing a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant.<\/p>\n

The fenced area will be located at Sundstrup Park in South Street, next to the tennis courts.<\/p>\n

Wondai Lions Club president Fred Law said a contractor had been hired to erect a 1.5m wire fence around the area.<\/p>\n

The entrance will be beside the exiting toilet block.<\/p>\n

The existing shaded picnic table will be within the off-leash area, providing the perfect spot for owners to relax as their pets have a romp.<\/p>\n

The club is also hoping to organise some obstacles for the dogs to explore and enjoy, including open concrete pipes and steps.<\/p>\n

Cr Ros Heit said Council had approved the project and will continue to mow the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
