UPDATE 6:50pm Sunday<\/b><\/p>\n

The previous bushfire warning has changed.<\/p>\n

QFES crews are at the bushfire burning near Hoggs Road, Tingoora-Charlestown Road and Wondai-Charlestown Road, Charlestown.<\/p>\n

There is currently no threat to property.<\/p>\n

The bushfire is burning safely within containment lines, but smoke is still affecting the area.<\/p>\n

People should call Triple Zero (000) immediately if they believe they or their property is under threat.<\/p>\n

EARLIER:<\/b><\/p>\n

Firefighters were called on Sunday afternoon to a bushfire which broke out near Hoggs Road at Charlestown.<\/b><\/p>\n

At 2:00pm there were three fire crews at the scene with another 10 on the way.<\/p>\n

At 3:00pm, QFES issued an “ADVICE” warning alert (see below) for the blaze, which is travelling from an inaccessible area in a north-easterly direction towards Hoggs Road, Tingoora-Charlestown Road and the Wondai-Charlestown Road at Charlestown.<\/p>\n

Two water bombers were also called in to tackle the blaze.<\/p>\n

At 3:00pm, a bushfire is travelling from an inaccessible area in a north-east direction towards Hoggs Road, Tingoora-Charlestown Road and Wondai-Charlestown Road, Charlestown.<\/p>\n

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.<\/p>\n

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.<\/p>\n
