About 30 staff from Boehringer Ingelheim – a major producer of duboisia in the South Burnett – stepped away from their day jobs recently to volunteer their time and skills to renovate the Kingaroy Youth Park.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Youth Park, adjacent to the skate park, is home to a range of Youth and Family Services including the South Burnett Domestic Violence Service and Family and Child Connect services operated by community not-for-profit group South Burnett CTC.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur company and local staff have a long history of working closely with the Kingaroy community,” Duboisia manager Des Crane said.<\/p>\n

“We are very pleased to partner with South Burnett CTC and lend a hand to renovate such an important site in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Burnett CTC provides essential services and support to families across our region, with every dollar donated to the organisation invested back to the community.<\/p>\n

“We know how highly South Burnett CTC is valued by local residents and we are immensely proud to do our bit to help support their efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Boehringer Ingelheim workers landscaped green areas, painted benches and structures as well undertaking a range of odd jobs to repair and spruce up the amenities.<\/p>\n

The volunteer day is a corporate tradition at Boehringer Ingelheim.<\/p>\n

In the past, employees have completed projects at the Winifred Fisher Indigenous Knowledge Centre at Cherbourg, SBCare in Kingaroy, and the Kingaroy RSPCA.<\/p>\n
