Firefighters have contained a grass fire burning beside Izzards Road at South Nanango.<\/p>\n

QFES were called to the blaze, near the corner of Tom Smith Drive, just after 11:00am on Thursday.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesman said eight crews – a mix of urban and rural brigades – worked to contain the fire.<\/p>\n

Heavy smoke blanketed sections of Izzards Road.<\/p>\n

They left the scene just before 1:00pm, handing control back to the property owner.<\/p>\n

About five acres were burned.<\/p>\n
