The State Government\u2019s efforts to grow jobs has resulted in 3900 Queenslanders finding work in June, according to Deputy Premier Jackie Trad.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Ms Trad said the latest ABS Labour Force figures backed her claim.<\/p>\n

“Today\u2019s data shows that in the past month we have created another 3900 jobs across our state,” Ms Trad said.<\/p>\n

“The ABS confirms this with our jobs growth over the year sitting at 3 per cent, above our Budget forecast of 2.75 per cent. <\/p>\n

“The trend unemployment rate is stable at 6.1 per cent, while the seasonally adjusted rate fell to 5.9 per cent, down 0.3 per cent from last month.”<\/p>\n

Ms Trad said the results were reflected in NAB\u2019s Quarterly Business Survey results, also released on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“They show that Queensland has the equal best business conditions in the country and the second highest business confidence,” she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese great results come off the back of our recent infrastructure and jobs focused State Budget.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jobs growth in Queensland is not reflected in the South Burnett, where the latest Small Area Labour Markets data (March 2018) puts the region’s unemployment rate at 8.7 per cent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Historical SALM data shows this figure has not altered substantially in the past six years, dipping to a low of 7.4 per cent in March 2012 and rising to a high of 10.7 per cent in March 2015.<\/p>\n

They do, however, show that the region’s unemployment rate dropped by 0.4 per cent in the past year, with 73 people either finding employment or abandoning the labour market.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the South Burnett’s population expanded by an average 113 people.<\/p>\n
