South Burnett Regional Council and local businesses will again be promoting the best of what the area has to offer at the Regional Flavours food and wine festival in Brisbane this weekend.<\/p>\n

This annual event at the\u00a0South Bank Parklands usually attracts about 80,000 visitors to explore its more than 80 stalls.<\/p>\n

The free festival, which is open from 9:00am-5:00pm on both days, also features celebrity chefs, live music and children’s activities.<\/p>\n

Council’s tourism body, “Discover South Burnett”, is an official partner of this year’s event alongside other regional groups including Gympie Gold, Luv Ya Lockyer and Visit Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

Local producers who will be attending are Clovely Estate, Kingsley Grove Estate, Crane Wines, The Peanut Van, Chinchilli, and Destination Events (Kingaroy BaconFest, Blackbutt Avocado Festival and Goomeri Pumpkin Festival).<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Food Ambassador Jason Ford will host a session incorporating South Burnett produce on the Queensland Taste stage and will participate on the Piazza stage alongside celebrity chefs Gary Mehigan and Miguel Maestro.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout the festival, Jason will also be cooking his famous Sticky Pork Belly Wrap which uses local products including Proteco Oil, Kassy\u2019s Bees Honey, Just Aus Garlic, Barkers Creek Pork, Bunya Red Farm Capers, Chinchilli Harissa Paste and The Peanut Van peanuts.<\/p>\n

Discover South Burnett hampers will also be available to buy.<\/p>\n

“The South Burnett has an exciting and thriving food and wine industry and I am proud to be a part of showcasing the best our region has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let’s Go South Burnett<\/figcaption><\/figure>South Burnett Regional Council will also be launching a new tourism publication, “Let’s Go South Burnett”, at Regional Flavours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Councillors were given a sneak peek at the newspaper magazine at this week’s Council meeting.<\/p>\n

The 20-page publication highlights the South Burnett rail trail, local wineries, Bunya Mountains and Boondooma Dam as well as BaconFest, the Nanango Country Muster, Blackbutt Avocado Festival, Waterhole Rocks, Burrandowan Races and the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival.<\/p>\n

The mini-magazine will be distributed through the South Burnett’s Visitor Information Centre network and as inserts in the Sunshine Coast Daily newspaper.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
