South Burnett Eagles U18s will come up against competition leaders Highfields ahead of the finals<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With only four games left before the finals, just two competition points separate the top five teams in the Toowoomba Rugby League U18s competition.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Eagles are holding down fifth spot with 19 points.<\/p>\n

Ahead of them are Highfields (21 points), Dalby (21), Souths (20) and Gatton (20).<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the Eagles held on to defeat sixth-placed Valleys 24-18 in a\u00a0vital game in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

South Burnett were ahead 18-4 at half-time but let the Roosters back into the game with four tries during the second half.<\/p>\n

Eagles’ tries were scored by Nic Plint,\u00a0Jackson Mladenovic, Jack Sullivan and John Blair;\u00a0Thomas Springate kicked four from four.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

South Burnett’s match-ups over coming weeks are against Brothers (this Saturday in Kingaroy) and Oakey (in Wondai on Sunday, July 22).<\/strong><\/p>\n

These will be great opportunities for local fans to cheer on the South Burnett team.<\/p>\n

The Eagles then come up against Highfields and Dalby.<\/p>\n

The venues for these games haven’t been announced but the Highfields match is most likely going to be away, while the Dalby game may be in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Highfields proved a handful for South Burnett earlier in the competition, downing them 36-8 during the “Pink Ants” day at T.J. O’Neill Oval.<\/p>\n

A week later, South Burnett played an 18-all draw against Dalby, also in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
