The South Burnett National Show Society has been allocated $12,000 from the State Government to put towards the running costs of the annual Kingaroy Show<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The State Government has announced the latest round of annual funding for Queensland’s 129 local show societies.<\/p>\n

The Show Societies Grants Program provides financial support for operating costs associated with conducting annual agricultural shows, and costs towards the construction and maintenance of showground assets.<\/p>\n

As well, show societies which own their grounds may use up to 50 per cent of their funding towards new infrastructure works that meet guidelines.<\/p>\n

Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies general manager Karen Wolf said the funding was crucial in order to be able to deliver shows each year.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of the show societies, particularly the smaller ones, would find it extremely challenging to conduct their shows without the Government\u2019s assistance through the grants program,\u201d Ms Wolf said.<\/p>\n
