Outback Grime’s new rail trail guide for
mountain bike enthusiasts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A new guide covering the South Burnett Rail Trail has been released and can be downloaded online.<\/p>\n

The guide’s authors are Brisbane mountain bike enthusiasts Gillian Duncan and Mark Roberts.<\/p>\n

Their company, Organised Grime, is best known for the popular book “Where To Mountain Bike In South East Queensland”, a guide to almost 3500km of mountain bike trails covering the area from northern NSW to Bundaberg, and west to Stanthorpe.<\/p>\n

It has sold 13,000 copies and an updated and expanded 5th edition was recently released.<\/p>\n

Organised Grime has also produced a detailed guidebook for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, which is now in its second edition.<\/p>\n

This week the company released a guide to the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail, including the South Burnett Rail Trail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 20-page guide contains street maps for all towns along the route (including Nanango, which technically isn’t on the trail, but was once the railhead for the Theebine line).<\/p>\n

It also contains notes about many nearby sites of interest such as Boat Mountain, Gordonbrook Dam and the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club’s tracks in Wondai’s McEuen Forestry.<\/p>\n

The guide provides a thumbnail view of accommodation options along the route; photos of local scenes; and advice about riding conditions on different sections of the trail.<\/p>\n

It also includes several suggested routes between Kingaroy and Yarraman for riders who would like to press on to tackle the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, or vice versa.<\/p>\n

At the moment the guide is only available as a PDF download, but Organised Grime hopes to produce a printed version in the future.<\/p>\n
