With less than a month to go, the 25th outing of the Kumbia Brain Drain looks set to be the best yet.<\/p>\n

For the first time, all table bookings are exclusively online, and tickets are selling fast.<\/p>\n

The event is an annual fundraiser for Kumbia State School P&C and according to organisers, this year’s Brain Drain is one no fan should miss.<\/p>\n

Each year the organising committee sets a theme for the event, with decorations, costumes and even the food reflecting the theme in some way.<\/p>\n

A range of trivia questions on the night are also aligned with the event\u2019s theme, and various sponsors donate goods for raffles and prizes.<\/p>\n

This year, the theme is \u2018Straya – 1993 to 2018, and guests are encouraged to dress in a dinki-di way that celebrates the Brain Drain’s 25th anniversary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re pretty excited,” Kumbia P&C president Kate Curtain said.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve already had a tremendous response from sponsors with a great commitment of goods and services to be raffled.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe shift to online ticketing has also been popular, with a rapid uptake since we released tables.<\/p>\n

“There are still a few corporate tables and a number of standard tables are available.”<\/p>\n

Kate urged everyone who wants to come this year to book quickly, because the past half dozen Brain Drains have been fully booked out weeks before the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve improved the format of the night in response to feedback, so this year could well be our best Brain Drain ever,\u201d Kate said.<\/p>\n

“As usual, the night is BYO and we provide a light meal with soft drinks available at the bar.<\/p>\n

“There’ll also be return bus runs from Kingaroy available, courtesy of Peter and Julie Chapman.”<\/p>\n

This year’s Brain Drain will be held on Saturday, August 4 at Kumbia’s Memorial Hall in Bell Street.<\/p>\n
