{"id":212785,"date":"2018-07-03T23:06:44","date_gmt":"2018-07-03T13:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=212785"},"modified":"2020-07-30T15:57:42","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T05:57:42","slug":"league-kicks-a-goal-for-kingaroy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/07\/03\/league-kicks-a-goal-for-kingaroy\/","title":{"rendered":"League Kicks A Goal For Kingaroy"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_212829\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-212829\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/20180703carnival1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-212829\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/20180703carnival1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/20180703carnival1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/20180703carnival1-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-212829\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The South Burnett Eagles after their fourth straight win at the U35kg carnival<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>July 3, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kingaroy&#8217;s been overrun by young kids this school holidays but no one&#8217;s complaining!<\/p>\n<p>The town was selected to host the Zone 5 Under 35kg junior rugby league carnival which means more than 120 10-year-olds, along with coaches, support staff and proud parents have descended on the town.<\/p>\n<p>Some are camped at the Kingaroy Showgrounds but many of the adults have booked rooms in local motels, providing a nice little boost to Kingaroy&#8217;s economy.<\/p>\n<p>The carnival is the first U35kg zone event to be held in the South Burnett, and is being co-hosted by the Kingaroy Red Ants and the Murgon Mustangs clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Previous large junior rugby league carnivals to be held in the region were the Central Division Junior Carnival in Kingaroy in 2016 and the U43kg Zone carnival in Murgon in 2015 &#8211; both of which also attracted large contingents of players and supporters.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, a representative team from the South Burnett &#8211; selected from players drawn from all South Burnett clubs &#8211; is taking on teams from Balonne Barwon, Central Downs, Charleville, Cunnamulla,\u00a0Macintyre, Roma, Western Downs and Wynnum in games at T.J. O&#8217;Neill Oval.<\/p>\n<p>The first games kicked off on Monday morning after the official weigh-in on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the South Burnett youngsters have played four games &#8211; for four wins &#8211;
