About 60 vintage and veteran motorcycles from around south-east Queensland will converge on Kumbia at the weekend for the annual Bunya Rally.<\/p>\n

The timed rally, organised by the Historic Motorcycle Club of Queensland’s Kingaroy branch, consists of two “secret” routes which riders will negotiate on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Club spokesman Col Rogerson<\/strong> said the bikes would start leaving the Kumbia Sportsground in groups of threes at 9:01am precisely on Sunday morning. One group would explore a 180km course around the Bunya Mountains while the older motorcycles would undertake a shorter 128km route.<\/p>\n

They would return to the Kumbia Sportsground between 10:30am and 11:00am on Sunday morning for a 45-minute smoko before continuing off again on the second-leg of their two courses.<\/p>\n

They’ll be back at the Kumbia Sportsground about 1:00pm for lunch, after which trophies will be presented to the winning riders.<\/p>\n

Spectators who’d like to inspect the historic machines can visit the Kumbia Sportsground on Sunday morning from about 8:00am or catch them during the smoko or lunch breaks.<\/p>\n
