June 23, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

A serious head-on collision on the Bunya Highway on the southern approaches to Wooroolin blocked traffic for about an hour on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

The incident, involving a dual-cab Nissan 4WD ute and a Toyota hatchback, occurred near the intersection with Quarry Road, just before 4:40pm.<\/p>\n

Debris from the crash was strewn across the roadway.<\/p>\n

Police, QFES and two ambulances attended.<\/p>\n

QAS paramedics treated two people at the scene; one\u00a0person was later transported to Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

The highway re-opened to single-lane traffic about 5:20pm.<\/p>\n

UPDATE June 25: Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said it would be alleged the driver of the ute – a 28-year-old Kingaroy man – had fallen asleep at the wheel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

His vehicle then crossed on to the wrong side of the road and collided with the Toyota which was was heading north.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Nissan is believed to have suffered a broken wrist while the driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old Morningside man, was transported to Kingaroy hospital for observation.<\/p>\n

The Nissan driver will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving without due care and attention.<\/p>\n

A person has been transported by ambulance to Nanango Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway near Blackbutt on Saturday evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the scene about 6:00pm.<\/p>\n

On Saturday\u00a0morning, QAS paramedics were called to a two-vehicle collision in Nanango about 8:20am. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Two people were assessed at the scene with minor injuries.<\/p>\n

No further information is available.<\/p>\n

Also on Saturday morning, police attended a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Albert and Kent streets, Kingaroy. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allege the 54-year-old male driver of a Holden sedan failed to give way to a Mazda utility on Albert Street about 11:00am.<\/p>\n

The Holden driver, from Branyan, was issued a traffic infringement notice for fail to give way ($378).<\/p>\n

No one was injured in the crash.<\/p>\n
