June 22, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

On a cold winter’s night in June, what could be better than some warm soup, a sausage sizzle and some hot coffee?<\/p>\n

Perhaps a free beanie and scarf?<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Suicide Prevention committee put on its second annual Winter Warmers event in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

There were raffle tickets, childen’s activities and, of course, the free winter warmers mentioned above.<\/p>\n

To top it all off, there was also a free concert tossed in by country singer and 2009 Toyota Starmaker winner Liam Brew, just back in Australia after playing at Nashville.<\/p>\n

Liam also brought along his dad, Jason, to enjoy the show.<\/p>\n

In line with the mental health theme, handouts were available from groups such as Beyond Blue, Lifeline, SANE Australia and Centacare.<\/p>\n

Footnote:<\/strong> The beanies, scarves and crocheted blankets were donated by a number of local groups, including Angel Knitters, and various individuals.<\/p>\n
