Another 17-year-old youth has been charged in relation to recent car thefts in the Kingaroy, Murgon and Cherbourg areas.<\/p>\n

The Cherbourg teenager will face 45 charges, including 11 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, four counts of stealing petrol, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing liquor from a bottleshop in Gympie, unlicensed driving and two counts of failing to stop (evade police).<\/p>\n

He has also been charged with entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence after a break-in at Graham House in Murgon, and wilful damage to a police car after alcohol cans were allegedly thrown at the vehicle in Cherbourg.<\/p>\n

He has been remanded in custody on other matters and will appear in Murgon Children’s Court on June 22.<\/p>\n

UPDATE June 25: The youth has pleaded guilty to the 45 charges and has been remanded in custody to appear before the Kingaroy Children’s Court to be sentenced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon Neighbourhood Watch group celebrated its 20th year of operation at its meeting at Murgon RSL Club on Monday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Murgon Police, Senior Sergeant Lance Guteridge, said former members travelled back to Murgon for the occasion,<\/p>\n

Among those present were Lyn and Darryl Koy who were mainstays of the group for many years.<\/p>\n

Lyn became Murgon NHW secretary in June 1998, taking over from the inaugural secretary, and remained in the role until February 2011 when she resigned due to ill health.<\/p>\n
