The Barambah Health Centre<\/a><\/strong> at Cherbourg has received accreditation from Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A spokesman said the accreditation\u00a0demonstrated the quality and safety of the practice.<\/p>\n

AGPAL Chair Dr Richard Choong said the accreditation also shows the practice makes a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down.<\/p>\n

“Achieving accreditation is a major achievement for any practice and it is a clear demonstration that Barambah Health Centre is seeking to improve their level of service to both patients and the community,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Practices seek accreditation because they want to be the best and view this as another step toward excellence.”<\/p>\n

The AGPAL accreditation program was developed jointly by AGPAL and various doctors’ organisations including the AMA. It is a voluntary national program that aims to provide a range of guarantees to patients by accrediting the practice environment.<\/p>\n

To achieve this endorsement, a practice team works for 12 months to implement the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Standards for General Practices, the nationally recognised standard for assessment for general practice.<\/p>\n

“Everyone at the practice plays a valuable role in working to meet the standards. It gives staff a real sense of pride to work in an accredited practice,” Dr Choong said.<\/p>\n

Barambah Health Centre will now proudly display the AGPAL logo for all their patients to see.<\/p>\n

The practice, which is open to all South Burnett residents, is located on the corner of Bligh and Broadway Streets, Cherbourg.<\/p>\n

It offers a range of health care services including general health GPs; specialised women’s, men’s and children’s health clinics; dental services; ophthalmologist; optometrist; audiologist; dietician and exercise physiologists; physiotherapist; diabetes educators; podiatrists; and more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
