Did you know there’s a social group based in the South Burnett just for “singles, young ladies and youthful gentlemen” over the age of 50 and under the age of 70?<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group, co-ordinated by Kathryn Spencer, organises hosted events which are advertised on the Lively50sPlus website<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and southburnett.com.au’s Daily Events calendar<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The group started about 12 months ago after Kathryn shifted to the Wondai area from the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

She had been been a member of the Lively50sPlus site over there – and had started a successful group in Buderim – so she was keen to kick off something similar in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

As well as special events – their Christmas karaoke break-up party at the Tingoora Hotel attracted 30 people – the Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group\u00a0also holds regular “get to know you” events such as tea and cake every Tuesday morning from 10:00am at Dimities Cottage Restaurant in Wondai.<\/p>\n

And soon they will be holding social dinners at the Fancy Friday Feasts which are beginning soon at Dimities.<\/p>\n

“We’ll have a table at the first FFF on February 1, and also for February 22 and March 22,” Kathryn said.<\/p>\n

“This will be an a la carte dinner from a menu. Cost is a menu price (BYO) and since these dinners are expected to be a sell-out, bookings are a must.”<\/p>\n

Kathryn said the Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group\u00a0was the “best” kind of group to belong to … they have no membership fees, no agendas and no meetings. \u00a0And you only have to attend the events that you want to.<\/p>\n

“We just want to have fun,” she said.<\/p>\n

People from all over the South Burnett, including Blackbutt, Yarraman and Nanango, have attended their events.<\/p>\n

Members join up for free on the Lively50sPlus website<\/a><\/strong>; \u00a0they can also volunteer to host their own events which are publicised on the site for free. Members also receive a weekly newsletter of upcoming events.<\/p>\n

Other events hosted by Lively50sPlus members coming up soon include tenpin bowling tomorrow, Australia Day in Coronation Park, Wondai; and Australia Day at Boondooma Homestead.<\/p>\n
