Detectives from Kingaroy and Murgon CIBs were involved in drug raids in the Roma region on Tuesday morning which led to more than 11 people facing a total of 633 charges.<\/p>\n

The raids followed a 14-month investigation into the trafficking of the drug ice, allegedly involving heavy transport operators.<\/p>\n

Operation Papa Knot was established in March 2017.<\/p>\n

Since then, vehicles have been intercepted and search warrants executed at a number of locations, leading to the arrest of 92 people on 176 charges.<\/p>\n

On May 19, police seized 147.2g of ice, worth approximately $147,000, from a vehicle in Roma.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, more than 60 police officers from across Queensland – including detectives from Roma, St George, Charleville, Dalby, Kingaroy and Murgon with assistance from the State Drug Squad – executed about 40 search warrants at properties across Roma.<\/p>\n

A 37-year-old Roma man has been charged with 400 offences, including trafficking and 392 counts of supplying dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

Police expect to make further arrests.<\/p>\n
