Toowoomba Regional Council has won an Award of Excellence at the 2018 Parks and Leisure Australia State Conference held in Redcliffe last week for a tree-planting program which included parts of Yarraman.<\/p>\n

Cr Joe Ramia said Council\u2019s Urban Forest tree planting program won in the Best Rural Industry Contribution category.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Award of Excellence acknowledges Council\u2019s proactive tree-planting program across the region,” Cr Ramia said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strategic approach to tree planting combined with successful public consultation ensures that the management of Council\u2019s tree populations match the expectations of the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn both Yarraman and Clifton, the community was given the opportunity to have their say on the tree planting program, including providing feedback on species selection and location.<\/p>\n

“Council communicated with the community through regular updates on the tree-planting program.”<\/p>\n
